WHO WE ARE
MISSION
The Sisters of St. Joseph are women of faith,
sustained by our love of God,
who through our ministries reach out
to a world in distress to help the “Dear Neighbor.”

The Spirit calls us to live out our consecration in community,
and with the strength that comes from our life together,
to turn beyond ourselves to serve a world in need.
We love freely.
We live simply.
We listen attentively.
Thus, we realize our commitment to Jesus Christ
by doing what He does, giving ourselves for others.

Our congregation from its foundation has been dedicated to the
exercise of ‘all of the spiritual and corporal works of mercy of which
woman is capable and which most benefit the dear neighbor.'
MINISTRIES
The Sisters of St. Joseph are committed to making visible God's great love in and for the
world.  We try to do this in all of our ministries and relationships.  You can find us in a
variety of places and types of work, since our mission of uniting neighbor with neighbor
and neighbor with God can take place in nearly any setting. We are committed to the
Gospel work of serving our neighbors by helping them to know of God's great love for
them and for all.  Check our
individual congregations' websites to learn about the
ministries of the sisters in each one.

SPIRITUALITY
The mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph is rooted in the mission of Jesus, the
same mission which continually unfolds in the church:  "that all may be
one…" (John 17:21)  This mission is lived through a spirituality of
relationships:  with God, with one another, with all people and with all of
creation.

Active and inclusive love animates us to build relational communities
wherever we live and serve.  Our mission as Sisters of St. Joseph is always
current in a world which yearns for love and justice.

Jesus, you are Light in a world of
violence and oppression;
teach us to reflect your light that
people may know hope.

Jesus, you are the Food that satisfies and sustains;
help us to work that the
abundance of this world may be
rightfully shared with those who
are hungry.

Jesus, you are the Way, the Truth, the Life;
may we walk with those who
hunger for meaning, who search
for truth, who journey toward the
living waters.

Jesus, you did not seek your own glory;
strengthen us to witness to
Gospel values and to serve the
dear neighbor without distinction.

Jesus, you are our Savior and our peace;
may we live and work to bring all
people into union with you and
with one other.
